Store Kjostinden (1488)

Store Kjostinden is a superb skiing mountain for early season until spring or even summer. Note that you may have to carry your skis up the rocky slope if there is no enough snow on the lower part. With over 1400 meters of altitude you can easily get 600 - 700 meters of great skiing even if the snow level is at 500 - 600 meters. Most of the travel on the upper part is done on glacier so watch out for crevasses. Also note that you are in avalanche run out terrain for the whole ascent and descent. The upper part is a nice couloir where you may need to carry your skis. If you want to visit the top crampons are recommended.

There are many nice couloirs in the top part for additional skiing.
